Frequently asked questions

Where are you located?

We are in verdant & beautiful Portland, Oregon USA; occupied land of First Nations tribes: Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Chinook, Tualatin, Wasco, Cowlitz & Molalla, as well as many others.

Do you have a brick & mortar I could visit?

The jewelry is made in my dream studio located inside of my home. I do offer the option of setting a date to accept visitors, but hopefully you're comfortable with greeting my dog & removing your shoes. I'll make you some tea if you like.
I don't have a store with foot traffic, but if you'd like to come to see jewelry in person you are welcomed to set up a date & come here.

Do you do local markets &/ or craft shows?

Yes I do many shows throughout the year. I am regularly updating my calendar of events too. Come see me!

Do you do markets in other states?

Yes, while not often, it does happen! Stay current with where to find PHD in person by checking out the Upcoming Shows page & by following along on instagram @pigeonheartdesigns.
New markets are added with relative frequency.

How long has PHD been in business?

Born in January of 2010, but the shift from being a  metalsmith to silversmith began in November of 2019.

Do you have gift cards?

Yes, we sure do!
Find them nested in the Shop section of the site, or also find them here.
Feel free to contact us if you prefer a physical gift card, as we also have those.

Do you accept refunds?

We take great pride in our work and hope that you love the things we make for you. Before making your purchase please read the entire description, know your ring size, preferred chain lengths, wrist size, etc. I provide photos of the pieces on me so you can see the scale of them. If you have any further questions about a piece please proactively contact us & we are happy to answer you & provide further details or photos. If there is a problem with the jewelry due to my craftsmanship, please contact me & I will fix it unless it's clear that it's been overworked & not cared for properly. All sales are final.

Do you do custom work?

We love to bring your ideas to life & do accept some customs. Prices will vary according to each project. We ask for a non refundable deposit of $100 as a base fee to ensure commitment & will go over details of your vision with you to get the collaboration just right. Access the special custom form here

What's your domestic shipping policy?

Ready-made items are shipped out within 3-10 business days of receiving the order (orders placed on weekends/holidays may take a little longer).
*Custom & made-to-order pieces take longer.
Shipping within the U.S. is $8 for orders under $200 & complimentary thereafter.
Insurance is included on all orders.

Do you ship internationally?

I do, but please note that international orders orders may have added fees or import costs that are the responsibility of the client.
There is a cost calculator on the site for your convenience, but tariffs vary country to country & may impose an extra charge upon arrival that the buyer would assume the responsibility for.

How long does it take for my shipment to arrive?

Within the USA it can take up to 5 business days, but often arrives sooner.
Holidays tend to take longer.
2 day Priority Mail & overnight Priority are upgrade options available at purchase.
For overseas- time varies depending on the country. Planning for a 3 week wait could be a good move.

Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

We are committed to a maintaining a more sustainable business by using ethically sourced stones, sourcing metals from the USA (diminishing our footprint), & using recycled mailers, gift boxes, & note paper.
There is also an option for carbon offset at checkout.

What metals and materials do you use in your jewelry?

Primarily sterling silver, & occasionally brass & even more rarely- little flourishes of copper comprise the jewelry at PHD.
All ear-wires and chain are hypoallergenic; gold filled to go with the brass (though sometimes you'll see sterling ear wires with the brass too), or sterling to go with the sterling.
The crystals and stones are purchased conscientiously with aims of supporting smaller operating mines without a large footprint, that do not use exploitative practices on workers, & are free of child-labor.

What/whom do you support with your profits?

Every month that we're able- we donate a portion of profits to different organizations that support human rights, the environment, or animal rights. Some places we've donated are: Border Kindness, The Halo Project, Color of Change, Black Lives Matter, The Innocence Project, Sea Shepards, BARK, multiple dog & pet rescues etc.

Do you do bridesmaids packages or bridal jewelry?

Gladly, we do. We'd love to help your special day be even more so.
